I have a great love of the English language, in all its shapes and forms. From ‘olde’ English words to the new ones that find their way into dictionaries from urban use.

However, there is very little to beat a lovely, descriptive, Scots word, which is why I used ‘coorie’ in my story ‘Barra the Squirrel’. Coorie, in this context, means to snuggle…and who wouldn’t want to snuggle up with a good book! Or have your little child coorie into you, when you’re reading the book to them. I hope you like the word as much as I do!
